Being an experimental lofi, jazz hop, and ambient artist who also has a day job as a science museum composer and soundscape artist can be a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience. It can be challenging to find the time and energy to create my own new music while also fulfilling museum obligations, but the process of balancing these different roles can also be a source of inspiration. For me, each aspect of my work informs the other, and I’m constantly discovering new ways to combine my love of music with my other passions and interests.
As a solo artist, I’m constantly exploring new sounds and techniques and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in music. This means experimenting with different recording and production methods and constantly refining my approach to composition and arrangement. It also means staying connected with other artists in the scene and being open to collaboration and feedback. Although this work can be challenging, it’s incredibly rewarding to see my ideas come to life and to connect with fans who are passionate about this style of music.
As a science museum composer and soundscape artist, I have the opportunity to create immersive and interactive experiences that engage visitors and bring science to life in new and exciting ways. This work involves collaborating with scientists and educators to develop exhibits and installations that are both educational and entertaining and creating soundscapes that help to set the mood and create an immersive environment. This work is very different from my solo work, but the creative and technical skills that I’ve developed in one area often come in handy in the other.

Talk about neglecting my media and sites. Truth be told, the covid lockdown, the work transitions from the office to home to the office, massive museum projects, and my illness last year left me reeling. My sense of direction was about as good as a broken compass.
